Can't connect a DR-07X to the PC

Hi, I've got a problem with my DR-07X. When I try to connect it to the PC, an options screen pops up on my recorder (so apparently it realizes it's connected) but nothing appears in the My Computer folder, no new devices are found. So I tried different microUSB cables, different PCs and I also tried connecting the DR-07 before and after it's turned on, but nothing's helped. Any solutions to this problem?

I had numerous problems trying to connect until I ordered a new micro USB data cable. I now have connectivity using my 2011 MacBook Pro running El Capitan and my new M4 Max running Sequoia. I realize others have messaged their inability to connect using verified data cables. I'm not sure what the difference is. I will echo this ^^^ - USB cables are notoriously unreliable & very widely in quality. In addition, it's been my experience that some USB cables won't work no matter what - even if brand new. This is probably most likely in cables that are meant for POWER transfer, but not DATA transfer, as @garrsta . Ya gotta do your homework...
Also be sure that your device/computer combination doesn't require a driver to be in place for the puter to recognize it.
