Hopefully someone can help me out. I have my DM 3200 configured so that the assignable sends get their signal from AUX 1-4 respectively. I am using AUX 1-4 as head phone mixes. The signal coming from the sends is mono. I am using a TRS cable to my headphone amp.

Is there a way to get the AUX signal from the Assignable send 1-4 to be stereo?

@TascamForeverDM3200 Do you mean have AS 1-2 (L/R )and AS 3-4 (L/R). I too am using an external amp. In my case I use the ART HeadAmp 6 Pro in the control room and a Behringer in the live room / vocal booth. I use Aux Send 1/2 on each channel to send a headphone mix to the live room and Aux Send 5/6 to do the same in the control room. Is this similar to what you are trying to achieve.

Yes, this is similar to what I am trying to do. I have a Rane H65. If I use the headphone out from the DM 3200 with a breakout TS cable going into the master input of the Rane I can get a stereo L/R headphone mix.

However, if I assign AUX 1 to AS 1 and use a TRS cable going into one of the six channels on the Rane, I only get the left side of the headphone mix. I tried linking AUX 1 & 2, it did not work.

each of the assignable sends is mono, but balanced (TRS), and each aux is mono. So u need to use two auxes (say, aux 1-2 linked) and sends 1-2 out. To use Aux 1-2 as a stereo headphone mix over Sends 1-2, u will need a cable in send 1 for the left side of the stereo mix and another in send 2 for the right side. You can use an ‘insert cable’ to do this, which has two TS cables on one side merged into a TRS on the other (which would go in the headphone amp).

I figured out how to get a stereo headphone mix. The Tascam has four assignable analogue sends; these are mono by default. If I want a stereo headphone mix, I have to link sends 1 and 2 to create a stereo pair. The physical connection requires me to use a TS-TRS breakout cable, using the Tip for the Left side and using the Ring for the Right side. With this configuration, I can have two stereo mixes and third mix that mirrors my control room mix (Master Stereo mix).

Thanks for pitching in. It sometimes takes me a while to wrap my head around exactly what the posting member is trying to achieve. As always you did a stellar job at saying what took me a day or so to formulate. Have a wonderful day! Peter
