I have been looking for studio management software and have come up with disappointing results. The current state of the field seems to fall into the following categories:
I've even tried a web-based management system on my own server but that is also very complicated and web-based applications are not idea for a studio where background processes and unnecessary network traffic have been reduced/disabled.
It seems to me that there is a huge void in studio management software that is waiting for someone to fill it.
- Outdated database templates.
- Mac-only software.
- Trial versions created by now-defunct companies that cannot be unlocked.
- Ridiculously complex, prohibitively expensive enterprise resource management programs designed for $100M+ companies.
