Excuse the sort of a double post. I had another look look at the screen (window) of my DR-100 MK3 - previously I had noticed that the upper-right corner of the top most layer of the screen has been protruding outward ever since I bought the recorder, which has apparently caused some further dust to appear under the screen near that corner.
There's an ever-so-slight gap of air there I think - and some dust manages to get in.
I searched for some pics online and noticed that some of these seem to have that exact same corner a little bit loose, as can be seen here: https://www.bax-shop.de/tascam-dr-100-mk3-handheld-recorder#prettyPhoto
Anyone noticed this with theirs?
It's not a big deal but I plan to keep on using this for many years to come (for all we know it might be the last one like this; built like a tank and no smudgy touch screens etc) and at some point (if more dust starts appearing under there) I might want to remove the screen for cleaning under it.
I would be curious to know if the screen is glued on (=could be removed with a suction cup maybe, from the top?) or if there is a plastic clip or something holding it in place - if anyone has any experience on this, thanks in advance.
This model is supposedly quite different from the MK2 though, the structure is not the same.
Here's a pic of the aluminum body: https://tascam.com/images/products/dr-100mkiii/dr-100mkiii_w_aluminumbody_7688.jpg
And here's a Chinese teardown blog post - I can't make much sense of it but this one has a bunch of great gutshot pics which I thought may be of help to someone later on in any case, so here you go: https://post.smzdm.com/p/av7kx299/
(It kind of looks like the screen could be removed - but from the top? I don't know... From the other side, it's a whole different story :/ )
